The Victory Day parade in Chechnya's Grozny included a reenactment of the famous 1945 storming of the Reichstag building in Berlin.
As part of the reenactment, the city's main square was covered in smoke and two soldiers mounted a Soviet flag on top of the building after a simulated firefight.
"The Soviet Army cleansed our country and Europe from invaders. Sons of the Chechen people made their contribution. They fought valiantly on all fronts," Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov said.
After the reenactment, a parade with around 2,500 troops and around 50 units of military equipment was held. The parade included helicopters and Su-25 ground attack jets.
