The informal consultations on Syria scheduled for Friday afternoon at the UN Security Council have been cancelled at the request of Russia and the United States, a New Zealand permanent mission to the United Nations representative announced on Friday.

UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) —"At the request of the United States and Russia, the [UN] Security Council presidency has cancelled this afternoon’s 5:30pm Syria consultations," representative stated.

New Zealand holds the presidency of the UN Security Council in September.
